The journey started in 1991 with the launch of the trading company Fikosota catalyzing the spirit of the entrepreneurship of its founders. An industrial structure joined the trading structure of the company some years later- in 1993, and the Thermosystem company and the TESY brand were introduced. Hence, the manufacture of electric boilers and oil radiators started. Fikosota initiated a lasting partnership with Delonghi and Kenwood realizing an exclusive distribution of their products in Bulgaria. Far back in 1992, the company created the commercial chain “ASTRA” attaining a national coverage of 22 points per sale. Having gathered momentum, Fikosota started its expansion abroad in 1997. After several quite successful years of TESY boilers in Bulgaria, the first industrial plant manufacturing aluminum water/steam radiators was built. The already registered trademark TESY became the driving force of the company. Due to the growing revenue, Thermosystem decided to invest in a new production line for the manufacture of oil radiators. Its efforts focused on the design of a variety of items, their introduction to the market, and regular manufacture.
The products grew popular in the local market. The methodical and sustainable development of the company proceeded with the acquisition of a plant in the town of Smyadovo built in 1972 and specialized in the manufacture of heaters. For the first time after its foundation, the company participated in the largest trade fair in Cologne, Germany presenting its products. TESY opened offices in Kyiv and Moscow in 2000 paving the way for qualitative Bulgarian products to the growing markets of Russia and Ukraine. A production line for cleaning, deposition, and baking of water tanks with a glass-ceramic coating was purchased and set in gear in 2002. The technology was exceptionally innovative and one of the first technologies of that type in Europe.
The first patent of the company was issued that same year entitled “An Oil Radiator with Rounded Edges”, introducing a device with a unique structure and user-friendly shape that guaranteed safe exploitation. Currently, TESY operates four plants with more than 850 employees and sells its products in 54 countries worldwide. Its capacity is 1.2 million electric boilers per annum, while the annual turnover is 80 million euros and growing sustainably. The team aims for perfection, which requires persistent training and investments in innovations. That is the reason why the company received the most prestige reward of Forbes in 2017- TESY won the first award in the category “Quality” of the annual prestige Forbes Business Awards, organized by Forbes magazine. It was the second year in a row when TESY won an award since the previous year it was second in the competition “Business Development”.
Product quality is traditionally the tightest category of the Forbes Business Awards, and TESY won against dozens of other companies in 2020. “Three are the key-factors of winning the award and users’ interest, which push TESY business forward”, said Galena Simova, Marketing Manager. “These are user-oriented ideas, implementation of innovations, and transparency of our relations with partners and users.” TESY executives added: “The innovation principle is the fundament of TESY mission and tasks. It is the basis of product advantages such as uniqueness, high quality, functionality, and improvement of the design. The most innovative products – the latest models of heaters and electric boilers, can be controlled via the Internet using the application Tesy Cloud or mytesy.com. Hence, users can control their devices from anywhere in the world”.
What more can be said about the development, current state, and future of TESY? It is a powerful, rapidly advancing and innovative Bulgarian company, in Europe’s top three of boiler and heater manufacturers. Good luck, TESI!
