Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association

Bulgarian photovoltaic association is a non-profit organization unifying more than 400 companies from the renewable energy sector in Bulgaria.

Our members are companies with different profile – producers of solar panels, designers, installers, investors in the construction of photovoltaic power plants, project developers, financial institutions, investment companies and consultancies. It is suitable for companies with photovoltaic projects or those who have serious and well-founded investment intentions in the development and construction of photovoltaic power plants in the country.

BPVA’s mission is sustainable, low-carbon, modern and corresponding to the European standards energy sector. The Association maintains effective communication with National institutions, the non-governmental sector and international organizations.

We aim to improve the investment climate in the field of renewable energy sources (RES) in the country. With our experience, we help create a sustainable business environment and overcome legal, administrative and other barriers to investors in photovoltaic power plants.

We are working to achieve predictability and transparency of the legal framework, operational processes and mechanisms regulating the solar business in Bulgaria and of the RES sector as a whole. To achieve this goal, we participate proactively in the process of creating changes in our regulatory instrument.

In 2017, the share of energy from renewable energy sources in the EU target is set at 20% of energy in gross final energy consumption by 2020 and by 2030 it should represent 32%. Our national target by 16% is set at 2020, and by 2014 we have reached 18%.

We have the potential to become a leading European Union country in terms of photovoltaic market development. With the sustainable development of photovoltaics in the coming years, there will be dozens in Bulgaria, maybe hundreds of firm – installers of photovoltaic installations.
